Yacht Club Membership Pin, 1930s

In the early 1930s, Gerry Maass was excluded from the local sailing club because he was Jewish. Not one to be discouraged so easily, Gerry created his own yacht club, in which he was the sole member. He had this membership pin made for himself. Early 1930s. (MHM Collection, Gerhart Adolf Maass Fonds)

Metal pin surmounted by a triangle flag, that is painted red with yellow characters, pointing to the right. The pin flag has a rope attachment along the left flat edge.
