Canada's new Immigration Act grants discretionary power to cabinet ministers over admissibility and deportation of immigrants. The act introduces new restrictions banning homosexuals, Communists, drug traffickers, and drug addicts from entering the country. It also provides immigrants with the opportunity to challenge decisions through the creation of immigration appeal boards.
